Black-Eyed Child in Rearview Mirror – Shadow Beings?
Seeing a black-eyed child in rearview mirror is one of the most terrifying experiences Nicole has ever had. She looked back at the mirror and saw a child sitting in the back seat. When she turned around, there was no one there. She looked again—and the child was back.
But Nicole wasn’t only asking why she saw a black-eyed child in rearview mirror. She wanted to know something much bigger:
Are black-eyed children shadow beings?
I never expected Ali’s answer.
Seeing a Black-Eyed Child in Rearview Mirror
Why do I keep seeing these black-eyed children? Who are they? Do they ever grow up?
I live in constant fear. I see them in my dreams, or right outside my door.
The last time, I was in my car. I glanced at the rearview mirror — one was sitting in the back seat. I spun around to look — no one there. I looked at the mirror again — it was back.
I got out of the car and ran. I haven’t driven since.
“Soline, who can help me,” Nicole said on the phone.
I’m Soline. The name Ali gave me: the Bride of Shadows.
Nicole is American, but we studied together in France. Me, Nicole, Camille, and Liv — same university, same house, close as sisters.
Now she lives in Dubai. She called during the day. We talked for a long time.
The black-eyed children had worn her down; she was searching for answers. “Come to Turkey,” I said. “Ali will figure it out. And Liv’s here too.”
She showed up early the next morning. There’s a Turkish saying for exactly this kind of person — someone who moves so fast they arrive before the sun’s even properly up. I love how the Turks have a phrase for everything 😀
I opened the door half asleep, the sun barely risen. There was Nicole.
She threw her arms around me, already asking where’s Ali, where’s Ali, practically bouncing with excitement.
Half asleep, I mumbled, “Who’s where, Nicole?”
“Ali, of course. Ali, Ali,” she said.
“He’s in the garden,” I said.
Before I even finished the sentence, she’d shot past me into the garden like the wind.
Suitcases. Three enormous suitcases.
I could’ve cried — I was still half asleep, and now who was going to carry these?
Liv came to my rescue, drawn by the noise.
We hauled the suitcases in. Nicole stood at the garden entrance, waiting.
“What’s wrong, Nicole? Why are you just standing there?” I asked.
“I think Ali’s praying. I saw people pray like that in Dubai,” she said.
Ali finished praying and told Nicole, “Welcome.”
“Soline used to talk about you all the time,” Nicole told Ali.
Ali just smiled.
Once the introductions were over, Nicole started firing off her questions.
“Ali, who are these black-eyed children? What kind of beings are they? Why do they torment people? Are they always children?”
“Nicole, take a breath. You can’t ask that many questions in one go,” I said.
“What am I supposed to do? I’ve spent days looking for answers to this. I need to know,” Nicole said.
Ali just smiled.
That’s when Liv joined us. She and Nicole hugged tightly, making up for lost time.
Liv sat next to Ali and rested her head on his shoulder.
Nicole’s eyes went wide with surprise.
“Are you two together?” she asked.
Ali laughed. “No — Liv’s basically my little sister. Nothing like that going on.”
I was so tired, the sun still barely up, yawning nonstop.
Liv fell into a deep sleep on Ali’s shoulder. Oh, how nice for her. That shoulder was supposed to be mine, I thought to myself ☹️
“Alright, Nicole, let’s get to your questions. Tell me about seeing the black-eyed children,” Ali said.
“Yes — many times at my front door. But the last time was in the back seat of my car, in the rearview mirror. I turned around and there was nothing. I looked at the mirror again and it was there. I got out of the car terrified, and I haven’t driven since,” Nicole said.
“What kind of car do you drive?” Ali asked.
“A Range Rover Autobiography. What does the car brand have to do with black-eyed children?” Nicole said.
“Nothing, just curious,” Ali said, laughing.
Liv laughed in her sleep.
“You’re making fun of me,” Nicole said to Ali.
“No, I’m not. The sun’s barely up — I’m just stalling. I didn’t want to talk about them in the dead of night. I’ve been waiting for daylight,” Ali said.
“Soline, make some tea,” Ali said.
Are Black-Eyed Children Shadow Beings, and Why Do They Ask for Permission?

The sun finally rose. Ali drank his tea — I was still running on no sleep.
“Black-eyed children are mostly seen in the Christian world. In the Islamic world, they’re extremely rare,” Ali said.
Then he continued:
“They aren’t children. They’re adult shadow beings that have taken the shape of children. Did that answer one of your questions, Nicole?”
“Yes, but tell me everything, in detail — I need to know,” she said.
“Black-eyed children are one of the weakest links in the shadow-being hierarchy. At the peak of their shapeshifting ability is a dragon-horned serpent form — not the kind of snake you’d picture in nature. That form represents the height of evil.
Their capacity for harm is limited, and honestly, not all of them are evil. Some appear out of curiosity, some because they’ve grown attached, some because they simply want to stay near you. But some are genuinely malicious, others just curious.
They exploit a person’s vulnerabilities. Once they sense that opening — that frequency gap — they keep showing up. But without a serious sin on your part, they have no permission to enter, so they ask: ‘let us in.’ That’s why they need permission to come inside.
If you’ve committed something truly dark, these ones don’t come at all — what comes instead are far more aggressive shadow beings, already corrupted to their core,” Ali said.
What Do Black-Eyed Children Want?
“But what do they actually want?” Nicole asked.
“Nicole, how many billion people are there in the world? How many races? How many temperaments? Is everyone good? Is everyone bad? Is everyone honest?” Ali asked.
“I don’t understand,” Nicole said.
Even Liv stopped dozing, curious now.
“They’re like us. Some come for malice. Some out of curiosity, some to steal, some just to mess with you for fun, some for a free ride through life. And some for sex,” Ali said.
We froze. The three of us just stared at each other, stunned.
“What decides which one shows up?” Nicole asked, her voice shaking.
“Your own mistakes,” Ali said.
A heavy silence settled over all of us.
“I’ve seen them too,” Liv said.
“No way, you too? Did you really see them?” Nicole asked Liv.
“Yes — once in Belgium, and once right here in this house,” Liv said.
“Yes, honey, we’ve all seen them. Once, two of them showed up together, waiting at the garden gate. Ali actually slapped one of them,” I told Nicole.
“You’re joking. Ali actually slapped one of them?” Nicole said.
“Yes, Nicole, and what a slap. I can still hear it. My mom thought it was a real child and offered it popcorn,” I said.
“Don’t even get me started, Nicole. Mom Beatrice nearly let them in. Ali got there just in time and slapped it, and they vanished,” Liv said.
“Do you two realize what you’re saying — that Ali actually touched them by slapping them?” Nicole said.
“Yeah, I’m aware,” I said, laughing, then added:
“Lately Ali’s been dealing with black-eyed children and other shadow beings constantly, because of me and Liv. You should’ve seen what happened before Liv arrived — you’d have had a heart attack from fear,” I told Nicole.
“What happened?” Nicole asked.
“Three enormous creatures, all terrifying. One looked like a middle-aged woman. The creature nearly clawed a piece out of Ali’s cheek — he just mocked it instead.
Then their leader showed up, with a captive — a Christian jinn woman,” I told Nicole.
“And then what happened?” Nicole asked.
“The younger one of them had been after me for a while — it had set its sights on me. Honestly, it wanted to have sex with me.
Ali captured that young one, then traded it to free the Christian jinn woman. They swore they’d never come near me again and left,” I told Nicole.
“What are you even talking about — like I’m in a sci-fi movie. Soline, that thing wanted to mate with you and have a child?” Nicole said, laughing.
“Don’t even ask. It kept saying, ‘you belong to me,’ the idiot shadow being. Meanwhile Ali was hilarious — he told the thing, ‘you’re not my type, I’d never marry you,'” I told Nicole.
“I don’t believe it. Ali, did you really say that?” Nicole asked.
“Yes — but it was truly ugly, definitely not my type,” Ali said, laughing.
Nicole burst out laughing.
“But Ali, what do they actually look like underneath?” Nicole asked.
“They are the weakest link of the shadow beings. Shadow beings, shadow people — it’s all the same thing, really, just a general label. That’s the name people in the West gave them.
Shadow beings actually range from twenty centimeters up to three meters tall. There are even fifty-meter ones — though as far as I know, that type no longer exists on Earth, they’re on other planets now. Maybe some are still here, I can’t say for sure,” Ali said.
“Fifty meters? You’re joking,” Nicole said.
“Black-eyed children are one branch of the shadow beings, but they’re nowhere near as dangerous as the three-meter ones.
Black-eyed children even have family lives — spouses, children, jobs, homes. Some belong to different religions too.
But they all share one thing in common,” Ali said.
What Is the Weakness of Black-Eyed Children?
“What is it?” we all asked at once.
Ali smiled and said:
They love gold.
Is seeing a black-eyed child in rearview mirror a sign of a shadow being?
Yes — a black-eyed child in a rearview mirror is considered one of the weakest forms shadow beings take.
Why does a black-eyed child in rearview mirror disappear when you turn around?
Because a black-eyed child in a rearview mirror cannot fully manifest without permission, so it only appears through reflection.
Why do black-eyed children ask for permission before entering a car?
A black-eyed child in a rearview mirror still follows the same rule as others of its kind: it cannot enter without an invitation.
What does a black-eyed child in rearview mirror actually want?
Motives vary — curiosity, attachment, or mischief — just like any black-eyed child in a rearview mirror encounter.
What is the weakness of a black-eyed child in rearview mirror?
According to Ali, a black-eyed child in a rearview mirror — like others of its kind — has a surprising weakness: gold.
